Storm Damage & Insurance by Gibco Roofing in DFW

Storm Damage & Insurance · Grand Prairie & DFW

Hail or wind damage? We document it and meet your adjuster.

About 75% of our jobs are insurance claims, so this is the work we do most. After a storm we can be out the same day, photograph every hit, help you decide whether a claim makes sense, and walk the roof with the adjuster so the scope is right the first time.

How it works

From first call to final walkthrough

Same-day storm response

After a storm we can usually be out the same day. We mark and photograph hail bruises, wind creases and collateral damage so you have proof before you call your insurer. Emergency tarping is done under a signed contingency agreement.

Claim or no claim

If the damage is below your deductible we say so. If it qualifies, we help you file.

Adjuster meeting

Carlos meets the adjuster on your roof, points out every documented hit and handles the supplement if the approved scope comes back short.

Repair or replace

Work is scheduled once the scope is approved, and most roofs are finished in a day.

Materials

What goes on your roof

Impact-rated Class 4 shingles are available on storm replacements and may qualify you for an insurance discount.

Warranty: 3-year transferable labor warranty, handed to you at completion.

Price

What it costs

Storm work is quoted from the approved insurance scope; repairs and emergency tarping start at $500. We never absorb deductibles: it is illegal in Texas and it puts your claim at risk. We help you get the claim approved and priced correctly instead.

Insurance, explained

How a hail claim works in Texas

This is the paperwork we know best. Here is the order it happens in.

Inspect first

We photograph every hit, and tarp under a signed contingency agreement if water is already coming in. If damage is below your deductible, we tell you not to file.

File the claim

You call your carrier; we give you the photo report and scope.

Adjuster meeting and supplement

Carlos walks the roof with the adjuster so the approved scope matches the damage, and files the supplement if it comes back short. We work with some of the top public adjusters in DFW when a claim needs one.

RCV vs ACV

Replacement-cost policies pay the depreciation after the work is done; actual-cash-value policies do not. We explain which you have before you sign anything.

We never waive or absorb deductibles. Texas law prohibits it, and it can void your claim.

Carlos did an amazing job on both of my roofs. They are very professional and efficient. He was able to identify wood rot underneath and help me repair it before replacing all the shingles class 3. It help lower my property insurance. The cost was very reasonable compared to all of the other quotes I've received. I can't recommend him enough. Please at least ask him to give you a quote.

We had a small kitchen flood and they had to re-do the whole kitchen plus all the flooring. They were timely, always kept things neat and clean, and the work was top notch. Carlos was always available for my questions. No hidden costs on the back end and he did all the work with the insurance company with the claims part. I cannot recommend highly enough.

They promptly came out and quoted us for our roof and gutter replacement and other miscellaneous items damaged by hail. Carlos and team completed our project earlier than anticipated. Perfect finish!

Questions

Straight answers

How do I know if hail damaged my roof?

From the ground you may see dented gutters, damaged vents or granules in the downspouts. On the roof we look for bruised shingles, exposed mat and cracked ridge caps. The inspection is free and includes photos.

How fast can you get out after a storm?

The same day, in most cases. Emergency tarping is done under a signed contingency agreement so we can stop the damage while the claim is worked.

Should I file a claim before or after the inspection?

After. An inspection tells you whether the damage justifies a claim. Filing for damage that is below your deductible can count against you without paying anything.

Do you meet with the insurance adjuster?

Yes. Carlos walks the roof with the adjuster, points out every hit we documented and makes sure the scope of work is complete. If the approved scope comes back short, he handles the supplement. When a claim needs one, we work with some of the top public adjusters in DFW.

Can you cover my deductible?

No. Texas law prohibits contractors from waiving, absorbing or rebating deductibles, and any roofer who offers to is putting your claim at risk. We help you get the claim approved and priced correctly instead.

Can you tarp my roof today?

If there is an active leak we can usually tarp the same day to stop further damage while the claim is processed. Tarping starts at $500.
